ART AS MORE THAN A PERSONAL EXPRESSION: AN INTERVIEW WITH KYLE JORGENSON

Kyle Jorgenson is a visual artist based out of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. His works and art practice revolves around the idea that art should provide a therapeutic effect on, not only the artist creating it, but especially on the person viewing it. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Kean University.

Kyle Jorgenson’s art serves as a reflection of his mind’s thoughts. Oftentimes, he finds himself fixated on a specific topic, current events, personal issues, life experiences, or his surroundings and emotions. Unable to get these things off my mind, they then form the basis of his works.

Sometimes, he is haunted by an image in his head until he’s able to bring the image to life. Other times, he goes in without any set plans and just allows his inspiration and emotions to guide him through the creative process in order to create an image.
